Rachael Harkins

Licensed Professional Counselor

Rachael Harkins, LPC, LMHC, NCC is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania (#PC013413), Arizona (LPC-20468), and Colorado (LPC.0018535). She is also a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Washington (LH61509024) and certified to provide teletherapy in Florida. In addition, she holds credentials as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rachael received her Master of Science in Clinical Counseling/Psychotherapy from the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Graduate Program at Chestnut Hill College in 2018. She currently resides in Glendale, Arizona, where she practices individual psychotherapy through teletherapy platforms. With eight years of experience in the mental health field and over six years in private practice, she has cultivated a therapeutic approach rooted in both clinical depth and human connection.
Rachael believes that safety, connection, and trust form the foundation of transformational healing and personal growth. Guided by patience, reverence, and respect, she honors each client’s autonomy and pace of change. Rachael is dedicated to creating a safe and sacred therapeutic container through her genuine, welcoming, and nonjudgmental presence. Clients can expect a space where they feel free to express themselves authentically, without masking or filtering their essence. Many report feeling relief in being able to show up fully as they are, with their needs met in an environment that does not demand performance.
While originally an “in-person” therapist, Rachael observed during the pandemic that teletherapy was equally, if not more, beneficial for many clients. This format often increased comfort and effectiveness, particularly for individuals managing executive functioning challenges or balancing complex inner and outer worlds. Clients appreciated being able to process and integrate insights within their own familiar surroundings, surrounded by the tools and comforts that supported their healing.
Rachael values the many ways individuals express themselves. Recognizing that some feelings or experiences cannot be easily articulated in words, she invites creativity, music, art, hobbies, and other expressive outlets into the therapeutic process. These forms of self-expression not only deepen the therapeutic relationship but also offer unique windows into a client’s world.
Her therapeutic style is best described as highly attuned, humanistic, transparent, empowering, and conversational. She works fluidly with both left- and right-brain processes, bringing a calm, cohesive presence that resonates with fast thinkers, deep feelers, and those who identify as dreamers or visionaries. She meets each person exactly where they are, integrating diverse methods and modalities based on their needs and energetic capacity. Therapy with Rachael is collaborative and customized, with client preferences and agency at the center.
Rachael’s work resonates strongly with adults who often feel misunderstood, “too much,” “not enough,” or “out of place.” She is particularly aligned with creatives, neurodivergent adults, highly sensitive people, perfectionists, late bloomers, visionaries, entrepreneurs, helpers, cycle breakers, and those who “march to the beat of their own drum.” Her clients often share a unique perspective on life, which she deeply honors and supports.
She is proud to serve as a compassionate witness, clinical advocate, and mirror for her clients’ growth and goals. Her practice emphasizes empathy, self-expression, and empowerment, with a focus on helping individuals release limiting beliefs while staying true to their authenticity. For Rachael, it is an honor to witness others reconnect with their organic self, deepen their relationships, and embrace their personal path. She remains exceptionally motivated and committed to the liberation and wellness of all those she works with.
