Ryan attended Thomas Jefferson University where he earned his Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy with a focus on sex therapy. He spent 3 years working in community mental health and drug and alcohol facilities providing individual, family, and group therapy. Ryan’s approach to therapy is caring, soft, personal, empathetic, and at times humorous. Ryan strives to create a safe and comfortable space that allows individuals to be their authentic selves.
Ryan’s theoretical framework is based on the idea that we are programmed and shaped by the people and environments in which we grow up. Therefore, much of his work involves exploring early relationships, memories, and messages from family and larger systems. In addition, Ryan uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Bowen Family Systems Theory, and Gottman Method in his practice.
Ryan got started in this field because of positive personal experiences in therapy and a desire to help others in a similar way. Building intimate relationships and helping people to grow, feel seen, and feel supported is what keeps him doing this work.
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys playing video games, horror movies, hockey, going on bike rides, and going to concerts with friends.
Ryan is committed to breaking down social and financial barriers to therapy.
