SUMMARY:Mindfulness for Intimacy & Connection
DESCRIPTION:As givers and receivers of touch\, learn how to actively engage with your senses by incorporating mindfulness into your sexual practices. Explore the relationship between meditation\, sensuality\, mental health\, and self-awareness. This class integrates Western Mindfulness with Sensate Touch\, an 8-step process used in sex therapy. This workshop hopes to enhance the first step of Sensate Touch with techniques such as grounding and body scans. This approach to intimacy has been beneficial to folks with general anxiety\, performance anxiety\, difficulty with focus and attention\, or those living with PTSD. Using mindfulness and body-awareness in conjunction with sensate touch techniques\, students will learn to enhance their connection to their partner(s) through physical touching. You do not need prior knowledge of the subject to attend this class. All touching in this class excludes breasts and genitals\, and will require affirmative consent. All are welcome\, but non-cis and/or queer and/or poly folks are encouraged to attend. This class is an inclusive space for LGBTQIA2+ students. This event will be ran by Jules Crain. The event is from 6:00-8:00pm on Saturday\, October 5th.\n\nJules Crain is a registered yoga teacher\, mindfulness meditation instructor\, Thai massage-style bodyworker\, and gut health enthusiast. They received their B.S. in Cognitive Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016 and completed yoga teacher training at Studio 34 in Philadelphia two years later. They work to cultivate a transformative space for all\, and specialize in working with LGB\, transgender\, and gender-nonconforming clients. In addition to private classes\, they have taught at studios\, parks\, and conventions around the city. You can follow them at http://www.instagram.com/jules.crain\n

SUMMARY:FREE EVENT: Grief and Loss
DESCRIPTION:This is an interpersonal process group that focuses on the experience of grieving a loss. Loss may be the loss of a partner\, a job\, a pet\, or a dream. The way one responds to loss in their life can look different than that of those surrounding them. This group is for those who have had difficulty coping with loss and the effects it has had within their life. Group members will come together to gain increased support and share a safe space to express their personal process of grieving. Group members will walk away with a healthier and stronger ability to cope with loss and grief. Through the power of the relationships built within the group\, members can expect to experience comfort\, validation\, and healing. This group is from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday\, August 8th.\n \nFAQs\nThis is a free grief support group facilitated by a therapist\, therefore there are rules on confidentiality. The names of individuals that attend the group and the content shared must be kept confidential within the group. If you see a group member out in the community\, please do not engage in conversation about where you know them from\, or what you know about them to respect their right to privacy and confidentiality. If you see a clinician outside in the community\, the clinician will give the same respect. Any content shared by a group member within the group that gives reason to suspect that suicidality\, homicidality\, child abuse\, or elder abuse is occurring must be addressed by the clinician due to legal and ethical obligations. No group member can show up intoxicated. If they appear intoxicated\, they will be asked to leave. By registering for this group\, you are agreeing to these rules and guidelines. Please make sure you only register once and for yourself only. There are only 12 spots available. If you cannot make it after you have registered\, please release your ticket to provide an opportunity for another individual to attend. Parking can be difficult around the center\, so please arrive early enough to afford time to park if you are driving.\n
